There's a kind of hush

It's been an unusually quiet day here at the Orangeville consular office. Good thing in a way; the big truck with the even bigger Scotsman at the wheel arrived this afternoon bringing a new shipment of goodies from over 'ome and yours truly has been very busy re-stocking the shelves.

When we first opened the doors last summer we carried a product that scored a direct hit with customers; it was Nestle Rolo Biscuits. These delicious treats are sinfully good; "chocolately biscuity mischief" as it says on the wrapper. No sooner had Blighty's created a coven of addicts of this popular snack - it disappeared. After months of asking in vain for new supplies I finally gave up and scratched the item from my stock list. But, the sun burst from behind the proverbial storm clouds today when the doors of the latest container to cross the ocean were opened to reveal a treasure trove of Rolo Biscuits.

Not Only But Also
And it's not just Rolo Cookies that have re-appeared on the shelves. The much anticipated shipment of Soreen Malt Loaf is also here. Schweppes Bitter Lemon is freely available throughout Quebec, but supplies to the rest of Canada have to be brought ashore by rowing boat, at night, to avoid the government food goons. The boats are up on the beach and bottles of the world's finest thirst quencher are now on the shelves at "Smuggler's Cove". It makes a good mixer too, so they tell me.
